Enoch Ferngren and William Kopitke first validated the blow molding process. The principle of this process stems from the blowing of glass products. In 1938, Ferngren and Kopitke built a bottle-blowing machine and sold it to Hartford Empire. This is the beginning of the commercial blow molding process. In the the 1840s, the variety and quantity of plastic products were very limited, so the blow moulding process was developed very late. With the increase of product variety and productivity, the plastic products produced by blow moulding process are more and more quickly. In the soft drink industry in the United States, the number of plastic containers has grown from 01 in 1977 to 10 billion in 1999.

Blow moulding process during World War II, the production of low-density polyethylene vials was started. In the late 50, with the birth of high-density polyethylene and the development of blow molding machine, blow molding technology has been widely used. The volume of hollow container can reach thousands of liters, and some production has been controlled by computer. Suitable for blow molding plastics have polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, polyester, etc., the empty containers are widely used as industrial packaging containers.

According to the production method of Parison, blow molding can be divided into extrusion blow molding and injection blow molding, the new development has multi-layer blow molding and stretch blow molding.

Extrusion process is the plastic after the original through the screw extrusion to squeeze the blow mold head, and then with the following mold and compressed gas to achieve product formation.

Extrusion blow molding Process consists of 5 steps: 1 will be plastic after the raw materials made of plastic embryo; 2. Through the closure of the mold to intercept part of the embryo and cut off the embryo; 3. Filling the mold cavity with gas to form the embryo, and cooling; 4, open the mold, take out the molding of the container; 5. Trim the fly edge to get the finished product.
